Scenario of an emergency situation that taught how to act (PHOTOS)

The table-top exercises continue today, March 22. They took place in Uzhgorod, in the chlorine storage of the pumping and filtering station of the MU "Vodokanal of Uzhgorod", the regional Office of the State Emergencies Service informs.

Here, according to the scenario, 10 cylinders were depressurized during the loading of containers, which led to the chlorine leakage. There were 2 employees at the site. They sufferred chemical burns and are in the chlorinator room. To rescue the injured workers and carry out preventive measures for the accident relief, a crew of employees of the MU "Vodokanal of Uzhgorod" equipped with skin and respiratory protection means is sent at the scene.

Upon receipt of information on the accident, a notification of an emergency is made, evacuation of 13 workers and residents outside of the chemical pollution zone is carried out. At the same time, the evacuation commission of the Uzhgorod City Executive Committee evacuates 335 people from the zone of possible chemical damage. The evacuees are transported by road to a safe place.

Rescuers and other life support services arrive at the place. 

At the same time, rescuers take measures to sediment the chlorine cloud and to prevent its spread, as well as determine the areas of possible damage. At the end of the works, decontamination of the equipment and personnel, that was involved in the relief of the accident, was carried out.
