SBU exposed embezzlement of UAH 1 million in budget funds during construction of administrative services center in Transcarpathia

With the consent of the Transcarpathian Regional Prosecutor’s Office, the director of a private enterprise was indicted of misappropriation of budget funds in a particularly large amount and official forgery. 
According to preliminary information, the contractor won the tender for the construction of the administrative services center in the village of Turya Remety in Perechyn district, however, failed to complete it before the set deadline. At the same time, he entered false information regarding the scope and cost of work, thus appropriating over UAH 1 million in budget funds. The total cost of the project was over UAH 4.3 million. 
The actions of the entrepreneur are classified under Part 5 of Art. 191 and Part 1 of Art. 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The choice of pre-trial restraint is being decided. The prosecutor’s office will request that the person be detained. Further pre-trial investigation is underway, it is being carried out by investigators of the Transcarpathian Regional Prosecutor’s Office under the procedural control of prosecutors of the Transcarpathian Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
