"Tysa FM" licenses for broadcasting have been revoked. Employees are raising the alarm:
In 2005, the decision to open an FM radio station based on Transcarpathian RSTBC was adopted. For this purpose, a team of young workers already having experience in radio was assembled.
Since the moment of its founding, the radio station has paid great attention to modern Ukrainian music. A huge number of musicians, that were not in playlists of any Ukrainian radio, but created a quality Ukrainian content, received support and rotation on the Tysa FM.
Times are changing and what recently seemed impossible, now is really happening. But these are difficult times for Tysa FM. Reducing broadcast on all three day-night frequencies to 4 hours, the prospect of downsizing and liquidation of local public broadcasters have threatened the existence of the unique public radio project in Ukraine.
Our licenses have been revoked. Our broadcasting time has been reduced to 3 hours 20 min. Thus, radio Tysa FM is destroyed and forced to cease to exist.
It turned out that instead of developing the best achievements of regional broadcasting and spreading it nationwide, the reform of public broadcasting has been reduced to destruction of already existing sprouts of modern public radio without offering anything in return.
We urge all concerned people, our listeners, our guests, our partners and friends and all, who know us or listens us, to help us save the unique project for Ukrainian public radio.
