Salaries of Uzhgorod teachers will be indexed – Andriyiv

The city budget has the funds for it.

"Yes, it can be solved at the local level. We have up to 5,000 workers employed in the education field. The issue on indexation of their wages is pressing. Those are mainly teachers of educational institutions of the city. There is money in the city budget that can be used for indexation of meager salaries of teachers.

We will adopt this decision at the next session and thus solve the issue. Because we can not change actual salaries. Only when the decentralization is implemented, and the city has more money, then of course, we will be able to raise salaries for teachers," – the Secretary of Uzhgorod City Council Bogdan Andriyiv said on the 21 Channel.
