“Sakura-2015”: what to expect from this year’s festival?

In the Uzhgorod Press Club, there was a press conference on the occasion of the annual festival "Sakura-2015" to be held in Uzhgorod.

Yevhen Bobrov, the head of the Department of Culture, Sport, Family and Youth of the executive committee of Uzhgorod city council told about the festivals, novelties, participants and this year’s program. The festival "Sakura-2015" will be held on April 18-19. But the events will begin even earlier. Concerts will be held in the school of arts, school of music, drawing competitions, sports events will take place. 

"The celebrations will begin on April 17, in the Rotary Park. On April 18, the official opening of the "Sakura-2015" will take place on Teatralna Square. For the first time in Uzhgorod, a great opening day of professional and amateur artists will take place – Yevhen Bobrov said. – All of our events will be charitable. And all festival participants will donate part of their earnings to the 15th Uzhgorod Battalion of the 128th Mechanized Brigade (for the conversion of a vehicle into an ambulance).   The Movement to support Transcarpathian soldiers will also participate in the "Sakura-2015."

Yaroslav Shafar, the deputy mayor, said that the holiday "Rotary Sakura" would take place during the celebration. The fest will take place for the tenth time, and previously it used to be closed, only for Rotarians. This year, the Rotary Club "Uzhgorod-Rock" celebrates its 10th anniversary, and the Rotary movement in Uzhgorod – the 85th!        According to him, soon, another arch and a marble bust of the first founder of the Rotary movement in Uzhgorod – Konstyantin Hrabar – would be set up in the Rotary Park. The Rotarians have another ides: to set up a two-faced clock at the corner of Korzo Street and Teatralna Square, which will show the exact time.
