Romanian universities refuse from lazy students

The Northern University of Baia Mare (now the branch of the Technical University of Kluzh-Napoka city) used a strange method education incentive in the spirit of a market economy nearly 5 years ago. This refers to the decision to transfer the best three students of Philological Faculty, who had studied on a contractual basis to the budget places as a reward for their hard work.  

At the same time three students of the same department were transferred to the paid education for having the lowest grades. This method was used to stimulate the lazy students to study on the basis of healthy competition.

Minister of Education of Romania Katalin Baba tries to apply the same innovation across the country. As the result only the most hard-working students will have a chance to graduate and get a diploma, according to the leading foreign universities principle: everyone who wants to enter the university but only those who can study graduate it.

Teachers and students embraced the innovation in different ways: it pleases the teachers but students are afraid that from now on an extra chance to get rid of ‘undesirable’ students appeared, write Romania editions.
