Romania has announced 14 days of mandatory quarantine for Ukrainians and other citizens from 48 countries where the number of coronavirus infections are close to that in Romania itself. The government’s decision took effect on October 7.
The list includes more than 50 countries, in addition to Ukraine, the United States, France, Britain, Spain, Moldova, and Hungary are also considered high risk.
Citizens coming from those countries do not need to be quarantined if they intend to spend less than three days in Romania. However, such citizens need to have a negative coronavirus test taken within 48 hours before arrival.
People who do not have symptoms can be quarantined for ten days with a negative coronavirus test.
Foreign nationals are also banned from participating in Romanian religious events. This is important, because during this period more than 10,000 people from other countries usually go to Romania for the religious celebrations of St. Paraskeva. This year, it is impossible due to the epidemic.
