Robert Horvat succeeded in introducing a ban on car import from Russia

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on Wednesday, June 26, made changes to the list of goods originating from the Russian Federation prohibited to be imported into the customs territory of Ukraine. In particular, on the initiative of people’s deputies Robert Horvat, Valeriy Lunchchenko and Vasyl Petyovka, the government banned the import of vehicles into the territory of Ukraine: tractors, buses, cars, trucks and specialized cars, motorcycles.

"The decision was made to take measures in response to the discriminatory and unfriendly actions against Ukraine by the aggressor state, as well as taking into account the appeals of associations, enterprises of various industries," – the report of the Cabinet states.

The ban will come into force on July 1, 2019.

Recall that earlier, people’s deputies Robert Horvat, Valeriy Lunchchenko and Vasyl Petyovka called on the Cabinet to ban imports of vehicles from Russia. This is a ban on the import into Ukraine of vehicles with the codes 8701, 8702, 8703, 8704, 8705, 8709, 8711 in accordance with the Customs Tariff of Ukraine. Those include cars, trucks, motor vehicles for the carriage of 10 persons or more, tractors, special vehicles (truck cranes, fire trucks, concrete mixers, etc.) and so on.
