Responsible parenthood will be discussed in Uzhgorod

On May 11, 2012 on the premises of the Transcarpathian Regional Center for retraining and training of state authorities, local authorities, managers of state enterprises, institutions and organizations (Uzhgorod, Sobranetskaya street, 150) there will be held a roundtable discussion on the topic: "The application of the best practices and methods in the field of responsible parenthood: the stage of preparation for childbirth".

The round table is held on the initiative and with the support of the Commission on Health Care, Maternity and Child Welfare and of the Gender Policy of the Public Council of Transcarpathian Regional Administration and the Department of Healthcare of Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, as a part of the project "Implementation of the best practices in responsible parenthood in the field of prenatal training", offered by the Transcarpathian centre of Ukrainian Psychotherapists Union and Transcarpathian Regional Center of Gender Education.

To participate in a roundtable there were invited health care professionals of Transcarpathian region, including obstetrician-gynecologists, maternity wards and antenatal clinics staff, the specialists of responsible fatherhood schools and schools for young mothers, government officials and civil organizations.

The roundtable is going to discuss the following topics:
1. Current state and importance of prenatal training in the preparation for responsible parenthood in Ukraine;
2. Innovative practices and methods of work in the field of prenatal training: foreign and domestic experience;
3.The best foreign and domestic practices in the field of perinatal psychology.
4. Contemporary manuals for married couples and parents (mothers and fathers) on a child care (consultation on breastfeeding, nursing, psychological advice, etc.).
