Rescuers warn of heavy rains and increasing water levels in rivers

According to the Transcarpathian Hydrometeorology Center, in the evening of the 22nd, at night and in the morning of the 23rd of February, very heavy rain and sleet are expected in Transcarpathian region.

In the mountains, in some places, slush build-up, sleet, ice covering on the roads, increasing southwest wind of 15-20, in the Carpathians – up to 25-30 m / s, snowstorm.

On 23 – 24 of February, increase of water levels by 0.5-1.5 m is expected in the rivers of the region, in lower reaches of the Borzhava and in the Tisa within the stretch V.Bychkiv – Vylok – by 1.5-2.5m (above the water levels as of 8:00 on February 21) due to rains and snowmelt in the mountainous regions. Water may break through on the floodplain.
