On January 9, inspectors of the Uzhgorod city and district department of the State Emergenices Service of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region conducted a preventive raid of the shopping venues at the 2nd International Gastronomic and Caroling Festival "Vasyllya". This fair has started on Narodna Square in Uzhgorod and will last through January 14. 120 producers of wine, honey, cheese, farm products from different regions of Ukraine, as well as abroad (in particular, Romania, Poland, Macedonia, Germany and the Czech Republic) will come to the fair.
During the inspection, the rescuers and representatives of the Department of Agrarian Development of the Regional State Administration conducted outreach activities not only among the participants of the event, but also directly with the sellers. First of all, they reminded about the necessity to observe the rules of fire safety and provided recommendations for ensuring a proper fire safety. Particular attention was paid to the availability and reliability of primary fire extinguishing agents. Also, accents were made on the rules of fire safety during the use of electric heating appliances and the use of open fire. Particular emphasis was placed on the prohibition on the use of gas cylinders in temporary buildings in crowded places. However, at the time of the preventive inspection, no cases of gas equipment usage were detected.
Everyone received from rescuers a memo about what to do in case of emergencies during mass events.
