Regional Council Chairman Volodymyr Chubirko and the head of the Transcarpathian Regional Administration Vasyl Hubal appeal to countrymen with the idea, which is believed to be worth discussing. It concerns the memorials to those who have given their lives for freedom, European choice, sovereignty and unity of Ukraine.
The regional officials suggest to arrange in the lobby of the RSA administrative building a memorial wall with portraits of the killed Transcarpathians – the ATO participants with photos, information about the soldiers, and burning candles.
The next idea is to announce public debate and open competition for the project of a monument to the killed Heroes in Uzhgorod (the Heaven’s Hundred and the fallen soldiers).
According to the regional officials, this project should be implemented only in the form of a broad public and expert discussion. Also, apparently, it must not be done at the expense of the budget – the possibility of attracting funding from sponsors or "crowdfunding" should be considered.
So activists, including professional artists, are invited to express their opinions on possible future memorials.
