Regional authorities complained to the government about the state of Transcarpathian roads (document)

In 2013, the pit rate on Transcarpathian roads increased by a quarter, and now their condition is deteriorating. This year, the government gave Transcarpathia only one fifth of the funds needed for road repairs. Every year, 150-170 kilometers of roads in Transcarpahia need overhaul, and 350-380 kilometers need routine preventive work. For this, the road service needs half a billion hryvnias. But this year, the region will receive only 63 million hryvnias, 8.5 million of which will have to be paid to contractor to repay last year debts.

The head of the regional state administration, the deputy Valeriy Lunchenko appealed to the government asking to allocate more money for road repairs in Transcarpathia by changing the procedure for allocation of funds from the state budget according to the amount of the excise tax on the sale of petroleum products. Last year, in Transcarpathia, they collected more than half a billion hryvnias of excise tax. In terms of gasoline consumption, our region ranks the fifth in the country, in terms of consumption of diesel fuel – seventh.
