Recovery of VAT increases

State Tax Inspectorate in Uzhgorod summed up the results of 5 months of this year in terms of the VAT refund – one of the most important taxes payable to the treasury of our country.

As of the end of May, 927 payers of value added tax are registered in the Inspectorate of Uzhgorod.

In total, since the beginning of the year 37 entities have been reimbursed over 23.6 million hryvnias from the budget. which is 19.8 million more than in the last year. The reason for this rapid increase in VAT refund in 2013 (nearly 84%) is a significant increase in export.

The tax office is constantly working to improve services for taxpayers, one of which is the introduction of an automatic refund of VAT to the taxpayers who are willing to work in maximum openness and transparency. In the city of Uzhgorod, five entities are already using the automatic VAT refund service and have been refunded VAT in amount of 17.1 million hryvnias.

However, the tax office point out that the number of VAT recipients in automatic mode would increase significantly if taxpayers comply with the criteria specified by tax laws. For most businesses, the wages criterion remains insurmountable. The average salary at the enterprise must 2.5 times exceed the minimum level established by law, that is must not be less than 2,868 UAH per month.
