By November 30, the "renovation" of Narodna Square, which used to be considered a model of urban planning, was supposed to have been completed. The deadlines for works were indicated on the board with the passport of the facility.
But it is clear that the official opening is still far away.
As the newspaper "Europe Center" has learnt from the construction foreman, who was overseeing the workers on the square, they need to finish the paving of the area adjacent to Dovzhenko street and to install the lighting. Perhaps these works will be finished in time. But they have no time to arrange the central fountain.
The foreman is quoted as, "one of the main reasons is that the works have not been funded in full. Therefore, we failed to meet the deadline. And now, the cold has come, it is harder to work and takes longer. We will finish everything else, the footpaths can be paved even in the cold. And the fountain will be finished with the arrival of spring."
The concrete structures are partially built and now the unfinished fountain will "decorate" the square for several months.
