Provocative exhibition! The Il’ko Gallery invites the audience to the next event.
This time, it will feature the company of artists, from almost all over the country. They were given quite specific task: to create a worthy work in large format using ultra-modern "brush" – a ballpoint pen.
The initiator of the event, Taras Tabaka is a known provocateur of not so much experimental art events, but the social consciousness of creative people and "consumers" of their works. Previous events – "Insomnia", "Fragmentation", "Indiferenta", "Idealist" – at one time were, if not prophetic in the history of the country, a certain reflection of the artist’s relationship with society. The current event is not an exception. The unique feature of the ballpoint pen is that it leaves no room for error to the author, and Ukrainians have made a lot of them in the process of establishing their own country…
As for pure facts: the official title of the exhibition "biro" is attributted to the name of the journalist and ballpoint pen inventor Laszlo Biro, whose 115th anniversary will be marked on September 29. He invented the pen in 1938, and the canvas on display are made with it. The exhibition organizers call it Large format of the ballpoint pen.
The artists admit: working in the style of "biro" took not only painting talent, but also extraordinary diligence, and sometimes – ingenuity.
It should be added that this exhibition will have quite promising and worthy continuation: exhibitions in the Hungarian Debrecen and the Kyiv Art Arsenal are already planned.
