On May 11 at 49 km. of the Volovets-Skotarske race was revealed the body of 23-year old Olha Shevchenko, who was deadly injured by the cargo train. The Transcarpathian Transport Prosecutor’s office, taking into account the request of deceased’s parents, has appointed an additional check on the circumstances of the girl’s death.
According to the information of the Transcarpathian Transport Prosecutor’s Office Ihor Syehin, the investigation was conducted immediately after discovery of the dead girl. It was determined that physical injuries on her body appeared as a result of railroad and her injuries are typical of suicide. At the same time, other physical injuries, which could indicate about the violent death, as well as alcohol in the blood girl, a forensic medical examination did not reveal.
However, the Transcarpathian Transport Prosecutor’s Office after the inspection conduction, in order to supervise the legality of the decision and taking into account the arguments contained in the statements of the girl’s parents, twice sent materials on the additional checks in order to clarify the circumstances of the last days of Olha Shevchenko’s life and causes of her staying in Transcarpathia on May 2012.
At present, Transcarpathian Transport Prosecutor’s Office appointed a re-inspection of the girl’s death in accordance to the art. 97 of the CPC of Ukraine, including the checked arguments contained in the statements of her fathe. The latter insists that his daughter was unable to commit suicide. She disappeared on the way to work in Kiev on May 6, and was found dead in the Transcarpathia.
