Presentation of a book by Lyuba-Paraskeviya Strynadyuk

On Friday, May 17, at 16:00, the presentation of the book of prose by Lyuba-Paraskeviya Strynadyuk "My Life in the Mountains" and "Over the Mountains. The Diary of Love" will take place in the Transcarpathian Regional Scientific Universal Library.

"My Life in the Mountains" is a Hutsul prose about the life in the mountains written in Ukrainian, but the dialogues and the direct speach are in Hutsul.  In this book, the author describes how she is going to live high in the mountains, on the Uhorske valley, adding to the text the memories from her Hutsul childhood.

The book introduces the reader to the life of Hutsuls, their language, relationships with the world and each other. This is not a depiction of the mythical Hutsuls, who lived somewhere in the past, but not now. This book is also an attempt to eliminate the wall, which, due to old stereotypes, mythical image of Hutsuls, has grown between this mountain, distinctive people and people from the lowlands, from the cities.

"Over the Mountains. The Diary of Love" is a short prose about everyday love for life, for people, for oneself, through self-reflection, restraint, meekness and care.

The cover for the book was created by Krystyna Lukashchuk, artist, illustrator, writer.

Both books were published in the Lviv publishing house "Piramida".
