Police are investigating a fatal car accident in Tyachiv district

In the village of Solotvyno in Tychiv district, the driver of a minibus "Mercedes-Benz Vito" a hit a senior pedestrian. The victim died from her injuries. Criminal proceedings were opened over the fatal car accident.  
The road accident happened yesterday, November 7. In the evening, around 18.00, the Tyachiv police department received a message from paramedics that they had delivered to the hospitay a 62-year-old woman, a resident of Solotvyno, who had been injured in a car accident.
Having arrived at the scene, the police found out that the driver of a minibus Mercedes-Benz Vito, a 38-year-old resident of Solotvyno, driving down Sportyvna street, ran into a retired woman. The victim died in the hospital from the received injuries.
Investigators of the Transcarpathian police registered the violation of the traffic safety rules that led to the death of the victim in the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations under Article 286 (2) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
According to the Communication Department of the Transcarpathian regional police, at the driver was sober. All the circumstances of the car accident will be established after forensic examinations.
