According to the BBC, the constituency 70 in Transcarpathia with the center in Svalyava became famous all over Ukraine. Here, the work of the district election commission for a few days was almost paralyzed due to the food poisoning of most members of the commission, computer technicians, police officers and even a rescuer.
Some of them were taken to ICU. The "surviving" members could gather to approve the final protocol on the results of the election in the district only on Wednesday evening.
"The poisoning was not a hindrance to determining the results, but put additional stress on the people, who so to speak, "survived" – the chairman of the District Commission Vasyl Koshelya said. Protocols from polling station commissions were being processed in extreme conditions.
The final protocol of the DEC was approved on the night of Wednesday to Thursday. On July 24, ten members of the commission were able to come to the meeting making up a quorum.
The candidate from the "Servant of the People" Mykhailo Laba won in the constituency. There were no violations, complaints or incidents, other than the poisoning.
