On September 3, the solo exhibition of the picturesque works of the Uzhgorod urbanist artist Petro Sholtes opened in the foyer of the Consulate General of Hungary in Uzhgorod.
The Consul General Jozsef Buhajla noted that it was nice to provide the premises for exhibitions again. Petro Sholtes is a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, M. Munkacsi Creative Association of Artists. He has been a participant of exhibitions, plein airs, has won several awards, in particular, he is a laureate of the S. Hollosy International Prize, holder of the Silver Cross of Merit from the Government of Hungary (for the development of Transcarpathian and Hungarian art). His works feature mainly the architecture of Uzhgorod, and in this way the artist immortalized it for posterity.
However, this time, among more than a dozen paintings by the artist, there are not only the streets and houses of Uzhgorod, but also still lifes, sacred architecture, rural landscapes, even images of animals (horses, Hungarian gray cow). The artist decided to present at the exhibition a selection of different works that he painted not only at home but also in Hungary.
By the way, this is the fourth artist’s exhibition at the Consulate General in the last few years. The atmosphere was very home-like: his family, friends, colleagues, journalists were there.
