Patskan does not want to return Zhevago 400 thousand dollars – so says the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Hennadiy Moskal in a statement, which was published today on his website.
In the context of the protests of citizens who accused the authorities of condoning vote-buying, Moskal said harsh things about his yesterday’s partner – the People’s Deputy Valeriy Patskan. Recall that Moskal headed the list of the "Solidarnist" to the Regional Council, and Patskan headed the regional election headquarters of "Solidarnist".
Here is what Moskal said:
"Before the local elections, People’s Deputy of Ukraine Kostyantin Zhevago (member of the "Batkivshchyna" faction in the Parliament) agreed with the deputy Valeriy Patskan to make Mykhailo Kachur the Mayor of Uzhgorod. Kachur is the director of the plant "Turbogaz" (which belongs to Zhevago) and a deputy of the Transcarpathian Regional Council from the "Batkivshchyna". According to the agreement, Kachur moved to the "BPP "Solidarnist", then Zhevago gave 400 thousand dollars for the campaign in Uzhgorod. With this money and good work, you could make even a sheep the mayor of Uzhgorod. However Patskan organized an unsuccessful campaign and after losing the elections in Uzhgorod, does not want to return the money. Therefore, he staged all this show trying to shift the blame for the failure on me. Recall that I personally have repeatedly warned of the threat of mass vote-buying, but other than claims, Kachur’s headquarters have not put forward any evidence of vote-buying!".
