The 8th Transcarpathian Regional Scientific and Practical Conference on Children and Youth Psychotherapy ‘How children live in modern families: relevant issues and prospects’ will be held in Uzhgorod on June 2. Professionals from Rivne, Kyiv, Lviv, Charkasy, Chernivtsi, etc will come to the regional center in order to share their achievements with their colleagues and exchange experience, according to the organizers.
They will talk about the Ukrainian families in terms of gender education, according to Natalia Bratasiuk, the head of the Transcarpathian center of Psychotherapists Ukrainian Association. Namely, how the gender issue is related to the children’s mental disorder. In addition, they will discuss the learning, speech, shock and trauma problems correction. The psychotherapists together with Valentyna Shevchuk, the head of Transcarpathian Regional Women’s Public Organization ‘Centre of practical psychology’ want to draw attention to a similar program and maybe try to extend in the system of education.
There are a lot of requests from parents who complain that their children are depressed and too serious, point out the Transcarpathian psychotherapists. However, the child grows in the family, therefore it is necessary to combine efforts and solve such problem together. The depression is diagnosed already at one-year old children. There is no place for disquiet children in modern world, for those who do not have to time to deal with everything, they do not become the leaders, so they have to adapt and sometimes embark on unacceptable actions. The gaming and Internet addiction problem is also relevant.
The Deputy Chairman of the Transcarpathian center USP Olena Kuzma noted that we have a quite specific region: a lot of migrants, children are often abandoned by their relatives, grandparents and becoming older too fast. The parents, in their turn, spend great sums of money on their children with the hope to compensate the lack of communication, but it is not a solution. Besides, we live close to the border and see the relationships between children and their parents in the Europe. However, our youth cannot cope with the democratic, free way of life in most cases.
That is why the modern psychologists and psychotherapists task is to help young people to find themselves in life. The experts point out that they have a few children’s psychologists. Therefore, it is discussed that the family doctor will take the psychologist’s responsibilities on himself. It means that he will participate in the treatment and patient’s examination.
