Traditionally, for the third year in a row, these days, in Uzhgorod, the Ippon Sports Complex hosts the Open Boxing Championship among teenagers aged 12 to 16 years old for the 2019 Santa Claus Cup.
About 120 participants from cities and districts of Transcarpathia are competing. For the first time, 10 boxers from Ivano-Frankivsk and even distant Mariupol are also participating. The guest of honor is five-time champion of Ukraine, international class master of sports of Ukraine, participant of the Olympic Games, the head of the Ivano-Frankivsk City Boxing Federation Servin Suleimanov.
Uzhgorod Mayor Bohdan Andriyiv took part in the grand opening of the tournament today. In his speech, Bohdan Andriyiv said that boxing is s sport for the brave, wished everyone happy New Year and Christmas holidays. He also thanked the coaches, first of all, the chairman of the Uzhgorod Boxing Federation, Stepan Molnar, the parents, who support their children.
