On St. Martin’s Day – go to Mukachevo!

Tomorrow, Sunday, November 11, from 9am, the city on Latorica will be celebrating. The occasion is the first in the history of Mukachevo, honoring of the patron saint of the city – St. Martin. The preparation continues, and the celebration itself will take place mostly on the central square.

In Europe, November 11, St. Martin’s Day is a celebration of the harvest and the first wine tasting. In Mukachevo they will treat with products of Transcarpathian best winemakers – both from Mukachevo and Beregovo districts (including the famous Carlo Shosh recognized as the best winemaker of the region). The mayor of Mukachevo Zoltan Lendyel also will present the wine of his own production: according to the European tradition, he will open the first barrel and pour the symbolic quantity of wine on the square. The remains will be poured for all comers to drink.

From 11.00 to 15.00 in the courtyard of Children’s Art School there will be a master class on making lanterns and charity campaign "Share a favorite toy." And in the evening, after 17.00, about 600 kids will walk through the center of the city with lighted lanterns. The participants will receive gifts from the organizers, and all viewers will also enjoy fire-show and performances of ensembles. Also the local theater troupe will present the act with … live geese, that are one of the attributes of St. Martin.

Mukachevo promises – it will be spectacular and exciting.
