On Monday, July 17, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko plans to visit Transcarpathian region. This was reported to the UNN by its own sources.
According to the preliminary information from the source, the President plans to visit Borzhava Narrow Gauge Railroad, the Museum of Forest and Rafting and the road to the future checkpoint in the village of Velyka Palad in Vynogradiv district on the Ukrainian-Hungarian border.
According to the source, the date of the President’s visit to Transcarpathia may change.
Recall that the last time Poroshenko visited Transcarpathia was on June 11, 2017, during the grand launch of the visa-free regime between Ukraine and the European Union. The celebrations with the participation of the presidents of Ukraine and Slovakia took place at the checkpoint "Uzhgorod".
As reported by the UNN, the villagers demanded to open a new crossing point with Hungary in Transcarpathia.
