On behalf of the Right Sector, an employee of UzhNU obstructed the investigation against the former administration staff (Statement)

The official site of Uzhgorod National University published a statement on the situation related to the university, in particular the obstruction of a criminal investigation "into the forgery by the former administration staff."

"Dear students, postgraduates, employees of Uzhgorod National University! It is our duty to inform you of the situation regarding UzhNU.

December 2, 2014, one of the employees of the University on behalf of the Right Sector of Transcarpathia demanded that the university management denied access into a building at Narodna square, 3, did not provide documents and generally interfered with the investigation carried out by the group of the Central Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, which arrived for the investigation of the criminal proceeding registered in the Unified register of pre-trial investigations over the forgery by the former administration staff. There was a threat of physical violence to the management of the university.

On the same day, the management of UzhNU officially appealed to the regional law enforcement agencies requesting to initiate the investigation into the incident and ensure the safety of the administration staff.

To prevent possible provocations, manipulation of public opinion, providing for the security of the University staff and given the fact that as of 19.00, December 3, 2014, there has been no response from law enforcement agencies of Transcarpathian region, we decided to publish this appeal.
