Official information about the terrible road accident on Slovyanska embankment in Uzhgorod

The Main Office of the National Police in Transcarpathian region revealed the details of the terrible accident that occurred on Slovyanska street.  

Yesterday, June 15 at 19:27, law enforcement officers received a report about a road accident in Uzhgorod on Slovyanska street.

An investigation team arrived at the scene of the accident site and found out that around 19:15, a 21-year-old resident of Svalyava driving a car "Porsche Cayenne" lost control, drove onto the oncoming lane and collided with a car "Ford Focus" driven by a 32-year-old resident of Uzhgorod.

As a result of the accident, three people were hospitalized: a 21-year-old driver of the "Porsche Cayenne", a resident of the village of Storozhnytsia, who was in the car as a passenger, as well as the driver of the "Ford Focus".

The latter is in a very serious condition.

The Prosecutor’s Office in Transcarpathian region opened a criminal proceeding

A criminal proceeding act was initiated over the accident on Slovyanska embankment in the city of Uzhgorod. The driver of the "Porshe" was arrested. This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor’s Office in Transcarpathian region.

Under the procedural control of the Prosecutor’s Office in Transcarpathian region, investigators of the Main Office of the National Police in Transcarpathian region are carrying out a pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceeding initiated over the accident, which happened last night, on June 15, 2019, on Slovyanska embankment in the city of Uzhgorod.

The legal classification in this criminal proceeding is under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – violation of traffic safety rules, which caused grave bodily harm.
