Not to forget and not to forgive! Uzhgorod residents paid tribute to the victims of Ilovaisk tragedy (PHOTOS)

Candles and flowers in the center of Uzhgorod. Tears. And many truthful words. But no words of forgiveness…

The sad occasion brought people today to Teatralna Square in Uzhgorod. The city paid tribute to the soldiers killed in the tragedy near Ilovaisk.

August 29, 2014, hundreds of Ukrainian patriots – soldiers, volunteers – were killed by the callous enemy. Announcing a "green corridor" for the retreat of Ukrainian soldiers from entrapment, Russian-terrorist troops shelled the convoys. The exact number of victims is still not known, however, they say it was at least one thousand soldiers. Townspeople came to pay them respect.

The people made a cross and words "Ilovaisk 2014" with candles , prayed together and held a minute of silence. The event was initiated by the colleagues of our fallen heroes – those who survived, those who will never forget nor forgive. Then, the participants went to the chapel on Kyivska embankment – for one more prayer and to put a candle of memory. The memory, which does not imply forgiveness…
