Today, January 27, in the Kryvi Puty tract near the Mount Hemba in Mizhhirya district of Transcarpathian region, they found the bodies of two Kyiv climbers, who had been searched for from January 19 – this information was confirmed by the spokeswoman of TD of MOE in Transcarpathian region Natalia Batir.
One of the rescue groups first came across a ski, and then after a detailed combing of the territory they found the bodies.
Now they are going to dig out the bodies and then transport them down.
Currently, the cause of death is being investigated: it is not known whether the men were covered with an avalanche or a snow cornice fell on them – informed Zakarpattya online.
Recall: the two men went on a hike to the Mount Hemba on January 19. The mountaineers took the necessary equipment, however, they failed to return to the base at the specified time.
It is known that the missing tourists were from Kyiv. One of them was a 70-year-old mountaineering instructor, his companion of 44 was also an experienced climber. The men were staying in the village of Pylypets, which they left toward the Hemba mountain from.
