New chief of Uzhgorod police Olexandr Gebesh met with reporters

Today, August 21, the newly appointed head of Uzhgorod city police department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region, Olexandr Gebesh met with regional journalists to "introduce himself and get acquainted." The head of Uzhgorod police said that comes from Svalyava, married, has a daughter aged 19 and son aged 10. He started his service in Svalyava as a police station sergeant, and was working as a the head of this structure for the last 2 years. 

Olexandr Gebesh is not yet ready to compare the specifics of work in Svalyava and Uzhgorod, but said that his work in the regional center is a little more difficult because the staff consists mainly of young professionals, who should still learn a lot. In addition, the personnel turnover is quite high. 

   Olexandr Gebesh siad that the criminal situation in Uzhgorod does not cause any anxiety thus there is no need to increase the number of patrol in the city. 

 

As to the perspectives, Olexandr Gebesh said he was ready to work actively within the executive committee of Uzhgorod City Council, develop a video surveillance system in the streets and should prepare to provide adequate law enforcement support for the upcoming parliamentary elections.
