New car sales fell by 45%

For the 6 months of this year, sales of new cars in the domestic market of Ukraine has decreased from 104.238 thousand units for 6 months in 2013, to 57.688 thousand units over the same period in this year, or by 45%.

This was announced by the press service of the "Ukravtoprom" – the Ekonomicheskaya Pravda informed.

"The analysis of the new car market in Ukraine in June 2014 suggests that it is in a state of stagnation," – the notice states.

As noted, in June 6.221 thousand cars were registered on the primary market for new passenger cars, which is 9% more than in May, but 20% less than in April.

Thus, from March to May, the tendency to decrease in sales is observed in the market for new cars, and a slight increase in June confirms the negative trend.

At this rate of decrease, the market recovery is not possible, and the June increase in the number of initial registrations by 535 cars is not an indication of the revival of activity.
