July 12, about 2 o’clock at night, an unknown citizen reported to the Mukachevo city police station that at the 786th km of the "Kyiv-Chop" highway an accident had happened. At the scene, police inspectors found out that the driver of a truck "Renault Premium" had hit a pedestrian who died from his injuries on the spot.
As it turned out later, the driver of the truck from Hungary had crossed the border in Uzhgorod city and was heading to Lviv. According to the driver, the pedestrian saw the vehicle moving on the highway and still decided to jay-walk the roadway. Currently, the police are identifying the deceased person and the cause of the accident.
The truck was delivered to the impound lot – the Traffic Police Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region informed.
