The prospects of expanding capacity of the military hospital in Mukachevo were discussed on Monday, June 29, during the visit of the Defense Minister of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak to the institution.
First, the head of the Defense Ministry inspected hospital rooms, talked with doctors and soldiers, and presented badges to the ATO participants who are being treated for injuries and wounds sufferred in the ATO area. Stepan Poltorak thanked them for the service, wished the soldiers rapid recovery and good health and thanked the hospital staff for their work.
And during the dialogue with representatives of local and regional authorities, they discussed the need for expansion of the facility. Mukachevo authorites are ready to contribute to meet the needs of the hospital. This will be possible, if the area with buildings is transferred from the Ministry of Defense to the city. At the end of the meeting, the head of the region reported that the agreement had been reached. "The mayor of Mukachevo Zoltan Lengyel stated that the city is ready to do reconstruction on the territory adjacent to the existing hospital buildings, if it is transferred to Mukachevo" – Vasyl Hubal said and informed that the working group on this issue would be established together with the Defense Ministry. It is unknown whether the Ministry of Defense will provide funds to expand and support the hospital.
