Mukachevo community is sending aid to the flood-hit Ivano-Frankivsk region

The mayor of Mukachevo Andriy Baloha wrote about it on his page on Facebook.

"Transcarpathia understands better than other regions what a flood is, how devastating it can be and how difficult it is for people to return to normal life after such a disaster. Most Transcarpathians still remember the disaster caused by the "big water" in our region in the autumn of 1998, the destroyed houses and victims." – the mayor of Mukachevo wrote.

"I want to remind you that in 1998, when a disaster happened here, the whole country helped Transcarpathia. We received thousands of tons of humanitarian aid from each region and thanks to this support many of the flood victims of our region were able to recover quickly and survive.

I am sure that other communities of Transcarpathia, representatives of our business, volunteers and ordinary people will also join our initiative and provide their best possible assistance. In addition, I urge the governor and the regional council not to stand aside. Let’s show everyone together that Transcarpathia is ready to extend support to Ivano-Frankivsk region, as once the whole country helped us," – the mayor of Mukachevo wrote.
