More than 1500 cars with foreign registration have become Ukrainian, or a month of customs clearance of cars at the Transcarpathian customs

Citizens continue to have their vehicles with foreign registration cleared at the Transcarpathian Customs. As of the morning of December 26, 2018, the number of cars registered by the customs authorities was 1,510. As a result of the customs clearance of these cars, more than UAH 96.8 million has been paid to the budget. The average customs value of such cars is 3,800 U.S. dollars

Under the declarations of citizens who had been using vehicles with foreign registration in Ukraine, Transcarpathian Customs cleared 247 cars for free circulation. Owners of these cars paid to the state budget more than UAH 15.8 million in customs payments and UAH 2.0 million of voluntary fines. The average customs value of these cars is 2,000 U.S. dollars

Recall that the Law of Ukraine of November 8, 2018, No. 2612-VIIІ "On Amendments to the Customs Code of Ukraine and some other legislative acts of Ukraine regarding the importation of vehicles into the customs territory of Ukraine" introduced new provisions for the import of vehicles. It provides for a transitional period of 180 days for those citizens, who imported a vehicle from January 1, 2015 until the entry into force of this law.
