Mikolajczyk was knocked by a Chevrolet, which twice (!) crossed pedestrian bridge – said the mayor

The mayor commented on the details of the incident that occurred today in Uzhgorod in the morning when a car damaged railings near the pedestrian bridge (exactly in the spot where bronze Mikolajczyk is seated).

According to Victor Pogorelov, the car, which is responsible for an accident, was captured by several CCTV cameras, so they could determine what was going on. Thus, according to the mayor, it was found out that about 5 in the morning the car Chevrolet drove over the pedestrian bridge (!) from the Petofi square to the Teatralna, drove on the square, Korzo and Voloshin streets (which, let us not forget, are pedestrian only! – uzhgorod.in) and then through the passage again headed for the bridge. However, he missed and hit the railings – the ones where the sculpture of Mikolajczyk "lives". "Thus, Mikolajczyk saved his life," – said the Mayor, who, however, did not comment on the degree of boldness of the driver – the facts spoke for themselves.

 According to Pogorelov, a young man was driving the car, and some girls were his passengers. Currently they are determining the details and identities of participants and witnesses to the incident, then the police will have their word. 

By the way, according to the mayor, the driver was also captured by the cameras of the "Old Continent" hotel – he stopped there, emotionally reacting to damages of the car. As they say, no comments. Actually the comments should be given by the services responsible for public safety in the city. uzhgorod.in will monitor this situation.
