Members of the Transcarpathian Regional Council remembered about the Transcarpathian salt

At the meeting, members of the Transcarpathian Regional Council supported the inclusion of the issue on Solotvyno salt mine into the agenda.

They propose to appeal to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine with a request to urgently resolve the issue of the further fate of the enterprise. Also, the Chairman of the Regional Council, Mykhailo Rivis, commenting on this, said that the municipal utility had submitted a proposition with the aim of obtaining a grant from the European Union for the restoration of the salt mine.

As you know, the company is currently not operating due to a disaster – the flooding of mines and the formation of sink-holes above the sites of salt extraction. Accordingly, the operation of the underground department of the allergic hospital, which was located right in the salt deposits, was also stopped.

As stated during the discussion, the restoration of the Solotvyno salt mine is blocked by the lobbyists of the "Artemsil" owners, who do not want to have competitors, despite the fact that the Transcarpathian salt is the best in quality.
