Measures to repay arrears of wages were discussed at the RSA

On Thursday, November 12, there was the meeting of the Regional Commission for the repayment of arrears of wages and tax debts chaired by the Deputy Governor Oleksandr Petik. The event was attended by the managers of the debtor companies, heads of district state administrations, municipal executive committees.

As the Deputy Director of the Department of Social Welfare Victor Matsola reported during the meeting, currently, the arrears of wages at enterprises, organizations and institutions of the region amount to UAH 6201.4 thousand. Compared to the beginning of the year, the debt has increased by 2139.1 thousand.

According to Victor Matsola, in 6 administrative units of the region, there are no arrears of wages, those are the city of Chop, Vynogradiv, Irshava, Mizhhirya, Svalyava, Khust districts.

Some companies managed to reduce the amount of wage arreas over a month. 

However, there are a number of active enterprises that have increased their arrears of wages during the above period. 

Arrears of wages at bankrupt enterprises are UAH 951.2 thousand, and compared to the beginning of the year, have increased by 378.7 thousand.

Oleksandr Petik, addressing the audience, said: "The amount of the arrears of wages in our region may look small compared to the nationwide figure. However, this does not mean that the problem does not exist, and we should not take steps to address it."

Therefore, the Commission considered the measures being taken by the executive authorities and local governments to repay the debt and to prevent the emergence of new debts, as well as the identification of priority actions aimed at reducing the debt to the pension budget.

      During the meeting, the Commission adopted agreed desicions to address issues in order to accelerate repayment of existing arrears of wages, debts to the Pension Fund and the single social contribution.
