Lying protest at the RSA: “You step over the law – step over us too!” (PHOTOS)

"You step over the law – step over us too!" – under this slogan, today after 8 am, Uzhgorod youth protested in front of the entrance to the RSA. They protested in support of Kyiv protesters by lying on the ground.

About a dozen of students lied down on sleeping mats in front of the main entrance to the RSA so that everyone coming to work this morning, had to step over people lying.

First, they wanted to stop students from protesting, however, they ignored the warnings and did lie down in front of the Transcarpathian White House. The protesters said that it was cold lying on the ground and unpleasant being stepped over, but in this way they want to influence local officials at least psychologically.

One of the participants, a student Nadiya explained the essence of the protest. "Our "beloved" legislators and officials have repeatedly stepped over the law or turned a blind eye to violations of the law. So we say that if they step over the law, then they can step over people as well. We are their people, we elected at the state and local levels. But they do not listen to us. For three weeks in a row, we have been telling them about our problems, but they can not hear us. I believe that local government can also influence the Parliament and the central government, the epicenter of events."

Young people put forward another demand to the head of the RSA, who is also the head of the regional branch of the Party of Regions, Oleksandr Ledyda – to dissolve Transcarpathian branch of the party, which is now also responsible for the situation in the country. By the way, the head of the RSA did not come through the main entrance. During such protests, he uses alternate entrance to the regional administration.

Officials were mostly indifferent to the protest. They were stepping over protesters and entering the building.
