The head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, deputy Valeriy Lunchenko appealed to the Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk asking to correct the mistake of the previous government and to restore the office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Uzhgorod. The office was closed by Azarov’s government in September 2010. Then, high officials ignored the objections of the former "governor" Ledyda and did liquidate the office.
Now, in order to resolve all issues ranging from problems with the issuance of visas to legalization of documents, Transcarpathians and foreign visitors have to travel to Lviv, where the nearest office of the MFA is located.
