Local budgets of the region received more than UAH 130 million of excise tax

As of July 1, local budgets of the region have received excise tax on retail sales of excisable goods in the amount of UAH 138 million, which is 16.7% of total revenues.

In the first half of the year, the said tax was one of the most important sources of local budget revenues and ranked second to income tax for individuals.

              The excise tax is paid to 332 local budgets in the region, which is 98.5% of the total number.

             In terms of actual volumes, the largest amounts of the tax were received by the budgets of the cities of regional importance: Mukachevo (UAH 27.2 mln.), Uzhgorod (UAH 17.8 mln.) and Khust (UAH 10.5 mln.), as well as Uzhgorod (UAH 16.7 mln.), Tyachiv (UAH 13.7 mln.), Vynogradiv (UAH 9.8 mln.) and Mukachevo (UAH 8.7 mln.) districts. 

Note: On January 1 this year, as part of fiscal decentralization, in order to increase financial security local budgets, the excise tax on retail sales of excisable goods was introduced. In accordance with Articles 64 and 69 of the Budget Code of Ukraine, the specified tax is a source of revenues to the general fund of city, town and village budgets.
