Local border traffic between Romania and Ukraine will be intoduced in May

According to preliminary arrangements, local border traffic in Ukrainian settlements near the border with Romania will be introduced in mid-May.

This was reported by the "Hromadske Radio" referring to the Consul General of Romania in Chernivtsi Eleanora Moldovan.

Thus, people, who live within 35-50 km from the border, will not need to have visas.

The dicument for crossing the border will be the permit for local border traffic.

Local border traffic will be introduced in the border areas of Chernivtsi, Odesa, Ivano-Frankivsk and Transcarpathian regions.

"The agreement on local border traffic, signed in Kyiv on October 2, 2014, is currently in the final stages of ratification. In general, both Romanian, and Ukrainian parties have already passed all the internal procedures and ratification formalities," – the consul said.

 

Earlier it was reported that Ukraine and Romania would simplify border crossing regime.
