Literary and artistic “CHENDEY FEST 2020” will take place online (ANNOUNCEMENT)

On September 10-14, the II CHENDAY FEST 2020 Literary and Art Festival will take place in Transcarpathia.

This year’s festival in honor of the Shevchenko Award laureate, master of short stories Ivan Chendey, is dedicated to the 55th anniversary of the first screening of the masterpiece of world cinema directed by Sergei Parajanov "Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors" written by Ivan Chendey.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the festival will take place online. Events from Uzhgorod will be broadcast live on the page "Writer Ivan Chendey" (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100025327570221) on the social network Facebook and on the YouTube channel "Uzhinform" (https://uzhinform.com/). The events, which will take place in the mountain village of Dubove, will be filmed and presented to the public later.

The program of the five-day festival includes a meeting with prominent figures of culture and art, a round table "Transcarpathians in "Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors", a presentation of the documentary "Shadows" by Ivan Chendey" directed by Vyacheslav Bihun, awarding of laureates, opening of the literary tourist route "Ivan Chendey’s Trails" in the village of Dubove, online series of literary lectures and trainings "Ivan Chendey’s School", etc.

The Chendey Fest 2020 project is being implemented within the framework of the partnership program “Culture. Tourism. Regions” of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation, USAID Competitive Economy of Ukraine (CEU) Program and the Small and Medium Business Development Office (SME.DO) under the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine.
