Ledyda: I support the European aspirations of Transcarpathians

The head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Oleksandr Ledyda is convinced that the future of Ukraine is European integration, however, the head of the region said:

– What is happening now is not the refusal to sign the agreement, but the suspension of the integration process. As for my opinion, Transcarpathia historically and mentally is the most pro-European region of Ukraine. In addition, the statistics of export-import economic activity of Transcarpathian companies indicates that over 80% of our products are exported to EU countries. It is necessary to take into account the human factor: thousands of Transcarpathians work in the EU, have families there, many of our youth receive education in the neighboring countries of the EU. So, I support the European aspirations of Transcarpathians – the vector on the European Union is the best, especially for our region. This vector for the whole country was declared by the President.

However, in this situation, Ukraine as a whole has a very strong economic ties with eastern partners. There is a danger of losing a huge market that has already had a negative impact on the budget of Ukraine. In fact, the budget revenues are a nightmare of the government, therefore the Cabinet, so to speak, took a break, because they believe that it is important to prevent shortfalls in the budget, because it affects the payment of pensions and social taxes, implementation of the state programs, and more.

Yet, I hope that Ukraine will be able to cope with all the challenges. I am only afraid that some politicians could benefit from the current situation and lead the country to schism for the sake of their own political PR – the press-center of the RSA reported.
