The government decided to save the image of Transcarpathian police. October 21, the Governor Oleksandr Ledyda issued an order that proposes to use administrative resources of the region "to implement new approaches in cooperation of local administrations with the police."
Thus, district state administrations, city executive committees, the Office of MIA of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region are recommended
to regularly hold joint meetings, boards, press conference. Also the order recommends the police to involve the public in law enforcement in their respective territories.
The Department of Education and Science, Youth and Sports, the Juvenile Services of the Regional State Administration, district administrations, city executive committees and the Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region were assigned
to enhance awareness and prevention activities among pupils in relation to administrative and criminal liability for offenses and to develop an action plan for the prevention of juvenile delinquency in schools.
Ledida also commissioned officials and the police "to promote a positive image of family and its social protection, to conduct a large-scale campaign to promote healthy lifestyles, the formation of national family values through joint preventive measures." Ledyda’s and Vartsaba’s subordinates will be analyzing the reasons for high level of juvenile delinquency "and taking measures to rectify the situation."
Recall that according to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine ranking of regions, for the first half Transcarpathian region ranks last in terms of "crime."
