Law enforcement and foresters finally stood up for the horse injured by a man

A criminal proceeding has been initiated over cruel treatment of animals in Rakhiv district. The Rakhiv Police Department registered in the URPI and initiated a pre-trial investigation into the intentional ill-treatment of a horse in the village of Chorna Tysa, Rakhiv district (Part 1 of Article 299 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The statement was filed to the police by the owner of the animal. The incident occurred yesterday, June 6, in the village of Chorna Tysa. A local resident tied a horse to his UAZ and dragged it on the asphalt. As a result of such cruel acts, the animal was injured. The pre-trial investigation will be carried out by the Rakhiv department of the Tyachiv district police office in Transcarpathian region, under the procedural control of the Rakhiv department of the Tyachiv local prosecutor’s office, – the press service of the prosecutor’s office in Transcarpathian region reported. For reference: this crime is punishable by up to six months’ arrest or restraint of liberty for a term of up to three years.

Transcarpathian foresters also came to help the poor horse.

Now a horse is under the care of the state forest protection workers. The workers of the Yasinya forestry farm became his saviors. 
According to Vasyl Telychuk, the director of the Yasinya forestry, the horse was sent to veterinarian Vasyl Moldavchuk for further examination and treatment. The family, which owned the horse, will be compensated for pecuniary damage, – the press service of the Transcarpathian Reginal Forestry and Hunting Range Administration reported.
