Latest information on COVID-19 in Ukraine and Transcarpathia

"During the past day, May 3, 354 people sought emergency medical care, 6 of them had symptoms of acute pneumonia, 4 were suspected of having COVID-19" – the director of the Health Department of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Yelizaveta Birov said.

150 samples of biological materials for polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing were collected. 23 persons were diagnosed with COVID-19, 9 of them are medical workers. Overall, as of 9:00 am on May 4, 2020, 531 patients have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of those, 137 are health care workers and 23 are children. 3209 polymerase chain reaction tests have been carried out. 61 people have recovered

No fatal cases among patients diagnosed with COVID-19 have been reported in the past 24 hours, but as of 9:00 am on May 4, 2020, one fatal case of a patient diagnosed with COVID-19 was registered.

According to the Public Health Center, as of 9:00 am on May 4, there have been 12331 laboratory confirmed COVID-19 cases in Ukraine, of which 303 were fatal, 1619 patients have recovered. During the day, 418 new cases were confirmed. Currently, coronavirus disease has been detected in:

Dnipropetrovsk region – 460 cases; 
Donetsk region – 81 cases; 
Zhytomyr region – 430 cases; 
Transcarpathian region – 531 cases; 
Zaporizhzhya region – 285 cases; 
Ivano-Frankivsk region – 984 cases; 
Kirovohrad region – 401 case; 
Kyiv – 1535 cases; 
Kyiv region – 853 cases; 
Lviv region – 506 cases; 
Luhansk region – 37 cases; 
Mykolaiv region – 161 cases; 
Odesa region – 427 cases; 
Poltava region – 227 cases; 
Rivne region – 750 cases; 
Sumy region – 112 cases; 
Ternopil region – 896 cases; 
Kharkiv region – 361 cases; 
Kherson region – 139 cases; 
Khmelnytsky region – 116 cases; 
Chernivtsi region – 1887 cases; 
Cherkasy region – 312 cases; 
Chernihiv region – 64 cases. 
The tests were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories. As of the morning of May 4, 2020, the Center has received 546 reports of suspected COVID-19 cases.
