Korolevska acknowledged the failure of the pension reform

Pension reform has proved to be ineffective, as the pension fund deficit remains. This was stated by the Minister for Social Policy Nataliya Korolevska, the press service of the Ministry informs. "I believe that pension reform is ineffective. Raising the retirement age for women from 55 to 60 years led to nothing except for the negative consequences," – she said. The Minister reminded that the deficit of the fund as of the end od 2012 amounted to over 27.2 billion hryvnias. In 2013 the deficit of the Pension Fund is planned at 21.8 billion hryvnias. "A significant pension fund deficit persists, among other things, because of the ineffective reforms. Also, the presence of this deficit prevents the introduction of the second level of the pension system. This can not continue. So, we create a working group to change approaches in the work of Pension Fund," – Korolevska concluded.
