On Friday, June 29, simultaneously in 14 countries of the Danube basin, will be held festivals and environmental events on the occasion of the Danube Day – a joint pan-European event aimed at increasing of citizens’ environmental culture which is organized by the International Commission for Protection of the Danube River. In Ukraine, the festival will be held in the village of Kvasovo in Beregovo district. The celebration ‘Tysa is the younger sister of Danube’ will take place there.
The program of this year’s festival will include:
The song contest on the environmental subjects ‘Vodograi’.
– The contest of works made from natural and artificial materials, which can be found on the rivers banks ‘Danube’s artist’ (the participants will make up their works directly at the place of the festival)
– The flying kites competition ‘Doletity do Dunayu’ (‘To reach the Danube’)
– The action ‘Gift to Borzhava’: each school will have an opportunity personally slip bullheads in the river of Borzhava (500), thus contribute to the fish populations’ recovery
– If the weather is fine, the festival winners will be able to get unique experience – to up in balloon.
It is expected that the festival will be attended by 200 children from different districts of Transcarpathia. Festival will be held with the support of the Transcarpathian Regional Administration, the International Commission for the Protection of the Danube River, the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources of Ukraine, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. Honorary guests of festival are the European Union Delegation in Ukraine representatives.
